FA Ratio BLK total PA /sample total PA
Description
Fatty acid control. The ratio of blank (BLK) total peak area (PA) to sample total PA. The blank chromatogram (no plasma) gives background noise for system and solvents and the tiny peaks are summed. We then ratio this blank total PA to sample total PA. The sum of the PA for the sample should be bigger than for the blank (ratio approximates to zero). If a very small quantity of plasma is present or if an injection error occurs then the ratio becomes closer to 1.
