AgeAtTest_DM_Attended
New in R8. Derived age at test in decimals to reflect true age (eg 35.9 instead of 35) at first visit in years and decimals. This variable replaces AgeAtTest_DM because that was calculated using AppDate. Since AppDate is the date the first visit is scheduled which is not always the date the visit took place. For AgeAtTest_DM_Attended the variable AppDate_Attended is used which is the actual date of the first visit. Please note that this is a decimal number which does not reflect months.

AppDate. Retired in R8. Date of the apppointment which the participant was meant to attend. If the appointment was rescheduled this date is not a true reflection of the appointment date. This variable should no longer be used in R8 instead use AppDate_Attended

New for R8 and replaces AppDate. Date of the apppointment which the participant ACTUALLY attended so appointment status = 2. Where participant had 2 or more appointments with status 2 the most recent date has been entered here. This is different from the data in AppDate since this is the actual date and Appdate is the date is should have been had it not been cancelled. The AppDate variable should no longer be used in R8.

G_AgeAtTest_Attended
New in R8. Calculated age of participant at first visit; rounded down to whole year. This variable replaces G_AgeAtTest
Reason_DM
New in R8. Replaces variable Reason which has been retired because reason codes for phase 1 data have been overwritten with reason code for phase 2 data. Reason of status of participant (invitation sent / appt made / finished etc). Initally only 14 reason codes existed (codes 0-13) but another 10 codes (14-23) were added after the study db was adapted to cope with data for Phase 2 of the Fenland study. As the same people are present in both phase 1 and 2 the data in this variable has been overwritten in the study db for people who have moved on to phase 2 of the study. Data management has therefore copied across the Reason code from the R7 dataset for all people in R7 (10857 people). For all vols new to R8 the data is as is in the study database.

New in R8. Study completion status of participant. Replaces variable Status which has been retired because due to a redesing of the study db the status codes for phase 1 data have been overwritten with status code for phase 2 data since release 7 for vols who have moved on to phase 2 of the study. Data management has therefore copied across the Status code from the R7 dataset for all people in R7. For all vols new to R8 the data is as is in the study database.
